Trustees of Immingham Museum have been searching for new premises following the announcement that Immingham Resource Centre – where the collection is currently housed – is to close in April.

Now the team and members of Immingham Town Council have joined up to move the museum into the town's Civic Centre, where it is hoped it will become the centre piece of a vibrant exhibition space.

Private investor and railway enthusiast John Trevitt, of Cleethorpes, will invest £15,000 on a new mezzanine floor to house a model Immingham railway and various other pieces of his memorabilia worth an estimated £75,000.
